Yorktown Senior Center is part of a much larger network of centers, supported (in part) by the York County Office of Aging. We are a Satellite Center of Golden Connections Community Center (formally Red Lion Senior Center), offering lunch daily. Membership in all York County Senior Centers is free to York County residents who are age 60 and older.
Yorktown Senior Center is part of a larger community, too – yours. We partner with various businesses and individuals to support the activities and programs of our center through fund development and donations.
Yorktown strives to be an active participant in the health of our community. We believe that older adults remain vital when engaged in meaningful activities that they enjoy. Yorktown consistently seeks opportunities to partner with other non-profit organizations to keep our members active and relevant in their community.
Yorktown Senior Center is, in a sense, a small community. In addition to providing tangible services, such as hot lunches, social services, and scheduled activities, our center is a meeting place where peers may gather and socialize, form new friendships, and maintain old ones. It is important that services and activities take place in a warm, supportive and caring atmosphere.
The time spent at the Center should support a feeling of relaxation and well being. To that end, Yorktown has adopted a “Code of Conduct”. Each member is responsible to ensure that their behavior contributes to the positive atmosphere of the Center.
